Charles Marville was a French photographer who liked to take pictures of architecture and landscaping. He is very well known for taking pictures of ancient Parisian quarters before they were destroyed. Charles Marville was originally trained to paint, engrave and illustrate. An interesting fact about Charles was that he was named official photographer of Paris in 1862 because the city asked him to document the ancient sections of the city before they would be modified by modernization. I enjoyed Charles Marville’s pictures the most because I like the way he took the pictures of the buildings like the angles and how some have a straight path through the middle of the two buildings. I also think the way the buildings looked back in that day make the pictures look neat.
I like that this post seems like a personal reflection on Marville's work - which is a terrific way to think of these blog posts - nice job.
