I thought this was innovative and might be fun to try. Also, a safe and healthy way to develop photos. I thought would make a good project for children who are interesting in film photography. I haven't tried it, but I think its worth a shot.
Try looking up "Caffinol" on flickr sometime - there is a surprisingly big following of photographers who are developing film this way. Anything that cuts down on the toxicity of the chemicals sounds like a good idea. I've never tried it, but maybe before the semester is over we should give it a go in class. I hear it smells really bad, though.
