Web Work 9 :: Jeff Krueger
These pictures where both taken on the North Shore. Krueger was originally from New England and moved to Minneapolis, Mn and got a BFA in fine arts at the U of M and he worked as a commercial photographer • A photographer who has a passion for historical, natural, and cultural landscapes • Krueger is a photographer of natural and manmade landscapes • He tries to connect his photographs to historical events, values, and laws • The subjects of his work always revolve around history and the way culture interprets it • For years he used architecture as his imagery to connect with his way of photographing • He has a series called “American Ruins” he photographed mid-century buildings with a nineteenth century expedition photographer technique • In 1997 he shot in Greece where he tried to look at architecture in more an objective way rather than fanciful • In 1998 he started his Historic Tree Project, which is one of my favorite collections of his • He is photographing living pieces of history, and trees that symbol honor and indifference along with the people who are preserving these pieces of history, which shows the people who are shaping out past in preservation • When doing these projects he looks at these buildings and trees that have been preserved and then the ones that are not dilapidated and uncared about, this helps him with his photography • He has a couple of other series that I would like to talk about the first one is Italia here he reflected carefree delight these are very beautiful and life full pictures • The next series is by far my favorite and it is the North Shores series, it was shot with an old plastic camera and the pictures are breath taking! Krueger's Site Jeremy Turner is an amazing landscape photographer that I have run across a couple different times while doing these web works and looking through photographers. His work is extremely breath taking and I think everyone should take a look at his website that I will list below. Jeremy Turner
